25 December 2007 - Looks like Saint Nicholas dropped a new upate to MGM on the server last night... there is now a full installer for MGM version 0.96p2 for new installations and a patch component to be applied against an existing installation of MGM. Both resolve problems with MySQL 5 and RG_emulation no longer needs to be enabled in Joomla. As an added measure of assurance, MD5 Checksums are now provided. Please use these to verify the integrity of these downloaded files.

This release includes three new table-less templates, an improved Help page, improvements to the mambot and various other bug fixes and enhancements. More info will be added in the future as time permits.

If you've tried any of the other photo gallery add-ons for Joomla, you'll probably know at least three things: some can be really, I mean really, challenging to install, some of them can be very complicated to use and lastly they all leave you thinking there just has to be something easier.

MGM Joomla! Gallery Manager is set to change all that ... MGM is different from the other gallery add-ons. For a start, it's not complicated. MGM has been developed for ease of use. It's easy to install and administer just like Joomla! MGM doesn't even require the user or administrator of the system to know Rocket Science to operate it once it's up and running.

MGM galleries are "inline" - they are displayed right inside of your pages, just like these examples below. And thanks to the many MGM users around the world, MGM is becoming multi-lingual. MGM was originally written by Marco Antonio Regueira and released with a Spanish translation. A German translation has been provided by Fabster and just recently there has been an offer to provide a Dutch translation.

The current release of MGM Joomla! Gallery Manager is v0.96p1 and is available for download from here . Development work is currently under way for v0.97 and will feature a new interface to make MGM even easier to use. Some of these new features will be released as patches to v0.96 in the interim.
